Paul and Nancy are retired, while Geoff and Jennifer are students. Paul was previously the founder of an industrial computer company and later ran a high-tech subsidiary of Fortune 500 company developing alternative energy equipment. Nancy was an elementary school teacher, and has done extensive volunteer work for an inner city church.

At the time of our first cruise, Geoff was about to enter the University of Michigan. Since that time he has earned his BS and gone on to receive an MS in marine biology from California State University at Northridge, where he researched environmental effects on corals (taking him to the Caribbean and the South Pacific). He is now married to Katie, a math and science teacher, and is working on his PhD at Michigan State University.

Jennifer was home schooled during our first cruise, and is now a sophomore at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is looking forward to a career teaching and is majoring in biology with additional interests in geology. She was first chair flute in the school district while in her high school band, which has been recognized as one of the top ten in the country for many years, and has played with the Calvin College Band and Flute Choir. During this voyage, she will be doing independent studies on the biology and ecology of the Pacific islands we visit.
