Remarks

Racing off the
coast of Fiji with her spinnaker flying or peacefully at anchor in
the North Channel of the Great Lakes,
Encore! is a
beautiful boat to sail and cruise.
A Beneteau First
Series 45f5, Encore! is a proven high performance cruiser/racer
architected by Bruce Farr, elegantly styled by Pininfarina and
built in France. Encore! was launched in 1991 and initially sailed
in the Great Lakes.
During 1996,
Encore was extensively refit and upgraded for participation in the
Expo 98 Round the World Rally.
After
approximately 3 years circling the world, Encore! underwent another
refit in 2001 after returning to the fresh waters of the Great
Lakes.
Encore! has never
been chartered, has had a single owner, and has been professionally
maintained keeping her in great condition.
With its shoal
draft and strong construction, Encore! has safely cruised the waters
of the Great Lakes, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, the islands and
atolls in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, up the Red Sea and through
the Mediterranean. At the same time, the First 45f5 design has been
successfully raced in venues around the world. While Encore! has
been used as a family cruiser, it performed well during the 1996
Antigua Sailing Week, and finished first in its class in nearly
every one of the Expo 98 racing legs across the Pacific. In spite
of its high performance pedigree, Encore! is easily sailed by a
couple, and has been single-handed from Trinidad to St. Lucia.
The 45f5 came with
two rigs, a tall rig for performance and a shorter rig for charter
fleets. Several cabin layouts were offered. A four cabin layout
primarily for charter (with one head), a three cabin layout with one
master stateroom and two double guest cabins and two heads, and a
two cabin layout with two master staterooms. The two keel options
were a deep draft for racing, and a shoal draft winged keel for
performance cruising. Encore! features the tall rig, 3 cabin layout
and a winged keel. All the other features and upgrades listed below
are custom upgrades by the owner of Encore!
